How Do I Create a Zip File?
When you submit your work to I-Learn, all of your work must be gathered together into a single zip file. A zip file contains one or more files that have been compressed to reduce the file size. Zip files are convenient for archiving files and are required when you submit your work to I-Learn.
If you are using a Windows operating system it comes with a nice zip utility already built in. To create a zip file using the Windows zip utility simply right-click your mouse on any blank space on the desktop. You should see a menu with several options. Click on the word "New" to see a secondary menu. Your screen should look something like this:
Now click on "Compressed (zipped) Folder". A folder with a zipper on it will appear on the desktop. Give this folder an appropriate name. Each assignment tells you how to name your zip folder. Double click on the folder to open it. Now you can drag the project folder created by NetBeans into tje zip folder. That's all there is to it.
Warning: There are a number of zip utilities that are available for free or for a small fee on the Internet. DO NOT use these zip utilites. They often do not work correctly when I try to unzip them. If your zip file cannot be opened your assignment can't graded.
